Mayo sport has been on a natural high of late and it's inspired many of us to get more active . . .

So if you share my enthusiasm, you might like to participate in the "BRIGHT EYES" / DeCare International 5-mile Road Race & Walk which will take place in Claremorris on Saturday, 14th August 2004, at 7:30pm. If you are interested, you can register on the day in Claremorris Town Hall (from 5:30pm).

The entry fee is EUR10 all of which goes directly to the charity fund and in return you'll receive a race t-shirt and race number plus a goodie bag at the end.

Even if you don't take part in the Road Race/Walk, you may like to contribute to the "Bright Eyes" Fund, and any contributions can be mailed to Kathy Hughes (address at the bottom of this page).

All proceeds raised will be in aid of the "Bright Eyes" Breast Ultrasound Scanner Fund for Mayo General Hospital.

The Bright Eyes project is dedicated to the memory of Angela Devaney from Castlebar who died of cancer on 26th March 2001. Angela, aged just 25, died within six weeks of being diagnosed, leaving her family and young daughter Nicole, who is now 8. The aim of the Bright Eyes committee is to raise €100,000 in order to buy a much-needed Breast Ultrasound Scanner for Mayo General Hospital.
