Castlebar Gardai question man over alleged rape

A young man was in for questioning in connection with the alleged rape of a 15-year old girl in Supermacs in the early hours of Saturday, May 4th. The alleged incident took place in the disabled bathroom of the restaurant after the girl attended a teenage disco in the Welcome Inn. The Gardai stated that the public have assisted with their inquires and a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Castlebar Channels back for now

The British TV channels will by restored on Saturday, provisionally, and a permanent blackout will occur if people do not pay the €65. A spokeperson for Dropvale Ltd., the company in charge of the deflector system, admitted that the restoration of the service means that some people might not pay but it is only fair to the people who have already paid.

The roundabout put out to only 4 contractors

The construction of the roundabout at McDonald's Fast Food Restaurant in Castlebar was put out to tender to four road contractors. Councillor Frank Durcan discovered that the Mayo County Council wrote to four individual contractors to request them to put in a tender for the contract.
