Fury over advert forces axing of date-mate event
A planned promotion entitled “Shag-tag” due to be held in Panama Jacks night club in the Travellers Friend Hotel in Castlebar last Saturday night was cancelled following a court hearing before Judge Mary Devins in which the application for an exemption for the event was objected to by the local Gardai.

New Nursing home for Castlebar
A new 4 million euro state-of-the-art Nursing Home is due to open on the outskirts of Castlebar later this month. The development is situated on a scenic 3.5 acre site alongside the N5 Dublin Road. The nursing home is the brainchild of Maureen Collins who has worked with the Western Health Board for many years. The new facility will create 25 full-time jobs.

Prime Castlebar site put up for Sale
A site with full planning permission for a hotel located in Saleen on the Ballinrobe Road has been put on the property market. The site is currently owned by the Dixon Family of Claremorris. The property sale by private treaty is being handled by Heaslip Property Partners Galway and Moran Auctioneers Castlebar.
