A bye-law passed by Castlebar Town Council in relation to casual trading will come into effect on December 1st. Under the law it will be illegal to trade anywhere except in a designated area on the Market Square. The area has been defined as on the south side of the Square, opposite Durcan’s Chemist or outside the ACC bank. A trader’s licence costing 900 Euros per annum will be required to trade and stalls will be provided by the council.
