More success for Castlebar Swimmers at Aer Lingus Open 2002

Cian Holland in his usual splendid form walked away with a Gold medal and prize money in the 16 and over 100 M Butterfly and a Silver medal in 50 M Butterfly. Cian has left the Leinster clubs asking "Who is this guy".

Darragh Quinn another fine swimmer made his mark by scooping a Bronze medal in a fiercely contested 100 M 14-15 100 M Breaststroke.

Laura English showed good form when taking on opponents from around the country and finished reserve finalist in Women 50 M Breaststroke. Laura also produced fine swims in 100 M Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke, 200 IM and 100 M Butterfly.

Jimmy Wiseman gearing up for a busy season had good swims in Men 50 M Butterfly and 50 M Breaststroke.

Colm Garrick is going from strength to strength and had good swims in Mens 50 M Breaststroke, 200 M Backstroke and 50 M Backstroke.

Jill Magee showed her competitive edge in 200 M Backstroke and finished with a personal best time, her other swims included 50 M Freestyle 50 M Backstroke.

Dara Dever competing in the Men's 200 Meter Breaststroke had a very fine swim and produced a Nationals qualifying time, he also swam the 200 IM and again showed his mettle.

The results from this national event are a tribute to swimmers and coaches and auger well for a very good year from this squad of swimmers.
