The South Mayo Branch of MS Ireland are hosting their annual Croagh Patrick Balloon Release on Saturday 16th August 2003.

Multiple Sclerosis is a neurological disorder which currently affects (directly and indirectly) many thousands of people in Ireland. At present there isn’t a cure for MS, but its symptoms can be controlled via medication and therapy and many people diagnosed with MS lead full and active lives.
Through the work and support of MS Ireland – The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland, help is available to assist people with MS to maintain a good quality of life and provide essential services for its members.
On Saturday 16th August approx 100 members and friends of The South and North Mayo Branches of MS Ireland are climbing Croagh Patrick to highlight the needs of the 180 people in Mayo diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis - a 15% increase from this time last year! Once again a number of the climbers taking part in this year’s event have been diagnosed with MS and for them climbing Croagh Patrick will be a huge personal achievement.
This year we have added something a little special to our unique Croagh Patrick Balloon Release Balloon Release – everyone who sponsors a balloon will be entered into a draw for a fantastic Hot Air Balloon Trip!
