Remember the spring well in what we knew as Jacko's field, Davitts Terrace.It had the loveliest cool beautifully tasting water in town. I think this spring was also connected to two well known pumps in the town, one in the archway in Rocky's and the other one that I was most familiar with was the tap in Rush Street at what is now known as Kelleher's corner. Many's the can of spring water I got from this tap.

I wonder if any of the inhabitants of the housing estate now in Jacko's field realise what a smashing spring well some houses are constructed over !!!!!
