And while Paddy frequented Johnny Mc Hales, he was also in former years, a regular visitor to that great Ellison Street establishment known as Tansey's. I heard him described today as the "last Tansey link". He was the last surviving member of the group known affectionately as the Seven Paddies. If memory is kind to me now, that group comprised : Paddy O'Malley, Paddy Mc Gough, Paddy Mc Dermott, Pat Lavelle, Paddy Gilligan, Paddy Howard and finally, Paddy Ludden.
Paddy Ludden was a wonderfully cheerful man throughout his life,and may he now rest in peace. Sincere sympathy to all his family.
