Josephine attended the girls national school
in the present day social services centre.The
Mulgrews,Lawless and Tonra families walked in
and out of school everyday in their bare feet
in all weathers and apparently always hungry.
In the 30s their xmas presents might be an apple
or an orange if they were lucky.Were they happy?
or was the escape to the Usa or england their
salvation.
