I have copies of the relevant pages of the 1911 census (from the library in Castlebar) that show that my grandfather, wife and three children were living in the Parochial Hall at the time of the census. That would tell me that they must have been homeless at that time and the Parochial Hall a shelter of sorts. Other people I note on the page of the census appeared to be living in the a Castlebar private school and a National School.
