That must have been quite a blizzard! However, It's the car that jolted my memory. Is it a Citroen 1220? I had a 1220 Club around that time and it use to go like a bat out of hell. Had excellent brakes too. The height of the car could be hydraulically adjusted and in snow, ice, mud or muck and with front wheel drive, it was guaranteed to get you out of trouble. Citroen (the lemon) you either loved or hated them. You needed a trained rat and a rubber screwdriver to work on the engine. Changing spark plugs was an almost impossible task. Mine eventually caught fire and was destroyed. Electrics was something the French never really got to grips with and a few more fuses might have saved the conflagration. Nevertheless, the design was before its time and it was a joy to drive. Happy days!
