Great description of the Rocks area Hogie. Hazel nuts in the autumn and hazel forks to make gowleogs for catapults. I think this area may have been the source of limestone for the buildings in and around Castlebar in the 18th and 19th centuries. Loughran`s quarry became the town dump in the mid 60s I think. Often wondered how houses have come to be built so close to this.
