The Brennans and "Tom Paddin Leam"

Posted by Anne Neville on August 28, 2006 at 06:07:23:

Hello, all!

My great-great-grandfather was John Brennan (about 1850-about 1890) of Kiltimagh. He, his wife Margaret Byrne, and their four children immigrated to Albany, N.Y., in 1883. I have a family letter from 1923 in which John Brennan's youngest sister, Mary Brennan, is mentioned. The writer says
Mary Brennan is married to "Tom Paddin Leam" and they live "on a big farm near Castlebar."

There is a Mary Brennan married to a Tom McNicholas in the records from the late 1870s, and I am trying to determine if this is the couple. Has anyone ever heard of "Tom Paddin Leam"?

Thanks in advance!

Anne Neville
