Augustine is a confirmation name prior to my last name. I use the nickname "Gussie" in honour of "Brother Augustine" who arrived in Castlebar as headmaster of St, Patricks national school then located in the "Military Barracks" in the nick of time to save me(and others, I'm sure)from being complete ignoramuses,amadans,dim-bulbs. After three years of 'Birdy'(good man though he was)we were all headed for 'St Mary's school for gardening!. You'r very observant, and shmart too, I reckon. You must be hereditary.
