Only joking, I never heard that Castlebar had a Masonic Lodge, sounds like it was an excuse to go drinking?

One thing I would say is that many military organisations had ties with the Masons and often lodges were formed within regiments and as we know there were a good many soldiers stationed in the military barracks in it's day so I'd assume it had a link to them.

Maybe it'd be worth shooting a mail off to the Irish Freemasons?
