It's great that present and future generations are able to see these glimpses of a bygone Castlebar. They are part of a very remarkable heritage and way of life that, in spite of all its good and ills, should never be allowed to be forgotten. In the first photograph, 2nd. page, there appears to be a early Ford 'Prefect' as manufactured in the later part of the 1940's.
The last photograph seems to show the rear of a Morris Eight saloon, manufactured around 1936. The photographs might therefore have been respectively taken in the late 1940's and the earlier 1930's, just before the European Emergency.
