Eight of the lovely things to a quid. One them the equivelant of five silver sixpences. I once put a half a crown in the church collection by mistake, thinking it a lowly penny. Oh, the fright, the panic and confusion. Worse than loosing a quid and finding tanner!

And just think, bank notes also had a silver thread going through them, clouds always seem to have a silver lining, the screen at the pictures was silver, as was the telly and the owl and the pussy cat danced to a silvery moon. Ah..... yesterday please leave me alone ;-)
