Just over 40 years ago, the first commercial flight from Castlebar took place.The pilot was John Finnegan & it was a four-seater Cessna.A large crowd gathered to watch it depart & some of the lucky passengers were Ml.Heverin & R.Kilkelly, Castlebar who were flying to Dublin to attend the annual Aer Lingus Conference.
