Mabel's father was William Young a Prison warden at Castlebar Gaol and her mother was called Emily. Her eldest brother was Francis James Young who was a Fireman/stoker part of the Engine Crew on the Titanic and 30 years old in 1912 when he was lost with the Titanic.
