My father worked in the old P&T so my sister and I used to sit on the small wall outside the Garda Station (now gone)waiting for him.I came from around the corner in Spencer St & back then,the Mall was our "garden" as such.Every street had a lot of kids so there was alot of rivalary. We used to shimmy down the high walls to Ryans house in Ellison Street where they had an orchard....great times
