These are in no specific order:
Walking up main street on Christmas eve and proud to be from Castlebar and seeing faces that you hadnt sen all year, pints in The Humbert, Wynnes toy shop across from the existing Wynnes Shop used to be a toy wonder as a kid, Hanleys on Market square when it opened as a toy shop, always some old guy in the pub with a santa hat sitting at the bar supping beer (was it santa building up his tolerance?). Seeing the street lights as you walked over staball hill. Christmas lights in house windows as you drove out of the town area...The smell of a good turf fire with a shovel full of coal and standing around warming your arse and supping a hot whiskey with sugar and cloves (no lemon)...sliding down the local hills on a 10-10-20 bag of manure stuffed with hay when there was enough snow...

Random memories which I have of Christmas around Castlebar.
