Butch, I too was a boy chorister and after 50+ years still sing tenor in church and seriously play the church organ. Many of my mentors and peers reckon that a treble line of boys' voices can't be beaten for purity of sound. Nevertheless, I have it on excellent authority that the girls in the choir of St Joseph's college, Castlebar, could always give a good musical account of themselves. Any of the old college girls care to share their memories?
