I remember the Watson family who lived where Castlebar Boxing Club on the Mall is now located. The father was a chubby man, good humoured and a chimney sweep by profession. I also knew their son Michael; they had a daughter who, if memory serves me, married a soldier and moved to Athlone. I think she later lost her life in an accident at a railway crossing. Her married name, I think, was Samuels. They also had relatives on the Ballinarobe Road, Westport, the Cullen family. Pat Samuels, Lawn Park, Castlebar, may have further information on the family. Memory dims with the passing years. It's long timse since the Watson family lived in Castlebar. They were nice people.
