Jean you have to read this posted by Butch further down the page under traffic Lights.
We were on our way to the pictures, Skipper & I,we stopped at JB'S corner (Intersection of Main and Ellison),for safety concerns!. As practisted, professional, pedestrians we were prudent not to rush pell mell across the busiest thoroughfaress in Castlebar and risk permanent demise by a coughing horseless carriage flying up the street. Viewing both directions with my lighted eyes,I calculated that I could run the gauntlet and arrive at the other side in one piece.I bolted like the startled equine from the sound of the carriage exhaustpipe.Arriving at the meridian of the median,I yanked my reins, arrested my momentum.I swiveled on my heels, and accelerated back to whence I had come.My folly realised, the stoic statue of Skipper cocked his head close to my ear,and whispered for ever," Hesitate and be Lost.Promptly walked across the street, umbrella in hand, tapping cadence and confidence. The C.E.O. of Castlebar.Of life he told me "You are either a Spectater or Participater",a poet invisible, gentleman,he loved our music. His favourite song "I Can't stop Loving You." We sang, and swam, laughed, played, and worked to-gether, during those "Halycon Days" a million years ago.
