Hello there Hogie. Patsy Dunne stayed only a couple of years in St. Geralds before moving on to Canada and eventually rose to a very senior adiministrative role in Education. I can clearly recall his frustration at the attitude of Bro. Aloyisius who banned the College soccer team from playing in the Connaught Colleges soccer final against Summerhill College. ( Summerhill went on to win the National Final and represent Ireland in Europe that summer `68 or `69), but that`s another story !
Edward Nally was amazing. It was a privilage to have been taught by such an earthy gent who lived through the turbulent years of the State`s emergence. He taught many of our fathers also.
As I write I notice that Spelling Police has also posted a response which has yet to be approved by M. Probably a chastisemet for a minor malapropism in your post. I wonder would he understand the finer characteristics of a Bull or a Cow, a Snowball or a Flea !
Hope you and yours are keeping well out the country.
