Somewhere around the 17th. century, politicians in London england were getting metropolitan if you will. armies were all very good for fighting wars and other armies, but superflous for regular run of the mill local crime such as 'murder''butchery!'and such so they invented a punish all transgression policy (having no bar to go by). Anyone caught commiting any type of transgression was/were arrested and sent to Australia. As ireland was occupied by England that of course included Irish men and women. Go read the book 'Fatal shores'. But I will be dammed if I'm going to be farmed out by the new regime that has taken over Castlebar.ie,without a fight. this is the 2nd time the site has been forced down. Bags of data lost. Now i feel like i have been put in a glass case and fed sugar, yours truly Fr. Murphy
