I was wondering if anyone could help. I'm trying to research my great grandmother Lilah Keane (o'Keane) who was placed in the Castlebar asylum probably in the late 20' early 30's. She was a school teacher in Killasser had a nervous breakdown and was sent there and abandoned by her husband whilst the kids were sent to England. She has been written out of our family hisotry so I am trying to find her! I don't know how long she was in there or even when she died. If anyone has any information on her or the asylum it would be greatly appreciated or even if you could point me in the right direction!
