Latest information is that it may be another 12 months before demolishing takes place. However, seeing as you mentioned the subject, we are looking for ideas how best to enjoy all the memories that the Pavilion holds for so many people from Castlebar and surrounding areas.
There will be a number of "Last Flings" before closure and of course there will definitely be a "Final Fling" just prior to demolition.
An idea mentioned is to hold a series of hops, with music from the different decades, a 50's night, 60's etc. on a specific night every 2 months, starting in November and continuing through January 09, March, May and the "Final Fling" in July of next year.All ideas are very welcome and please post them here on the Nostalgia Board. Somebody mentioned to me if we could get the following together for one of the trips down memory lane, Jordan brothers from Mc Hale Road, Tom/Kevin/Jimmy Bourke, Pat Quigley, Martin Heneghan, Des King, Tony Conway, Jimmy Deacy.........
