those movies were of course in the county cinema ...ellison street. the 4penny matinee was in the county cinema on spencer street.we would queue up under the disciplines of 'botha roache and his deputy george"batty" mcdermot.the doors opened and we filed down the poorly lit side hallway where willy ainsworth would collect our coppers and drop them into a shoe box...only the evening shows had a live musical session. mainly bros walsh , eddy roy, madam burke, sean burke,willy keane dick gillespie, etc...that entertainment ended with the fire .....movies were then shown at the bull ring in jim barretts emporioum where jack elliot was sherrif ....however in the old county cinema on ellison street the show was indeed silent and madam burke and in fact stephen garvey played piano.sin e an sceal ...
