Fr Tom was certainly the priest that had most influence on my life. He gave me my first Communion and trained me as a Mass server. He treated the young with sensitivity and respect. He was a great man to encourage people to try new things, to explore possibilities. I served on many committees with him and I often refer to the fact that I and many more visited his room in the presbetry, alone or in groups, and it was the safest, most welocming sanctuary. He did his best to make a singer out of me but even he could not perform that miracle, though we did sing a duet in Enniscrone many years later. A great man, a fine priest and a good friend. May he rest in peace.
