failte.....con ocallaghan was a barber indeed but he was not married to katie mahon....con was married to a beautiful lady from england.....michael john was married to niambh.....con is my 1st. cousin and is son of my uncle willy ocallaghan...who was indeed maried to katie mahon......her brother came up from the mountains to live with the family in the closing pages of his life....i remember when i was a couple of years younger than i am going down to the mahons at the butt of nephin......i remember getting a boiled goose egg.....and cially...?....you know mashed boiled potatoes with lots of butter and scallions.....incidentally i will use my posting to your posting as a place to point out i am not a typist...so i know ther are lots of "spelling" errors.....etc in my writings.....i also realize i goofed when i included a qoute from john donne.........i typed ......therefore send to know for whom the bell tolls......in fact i know the work quite well.....and know i should have written.....therefore NEVER send to know for whom the bell tolls....i have heard many tales of the titanic.....and know the irish that boarded at roches point at cobh were all in steerage.....i never was told that my aunt katies sister was on board...what i do know and it has no bearing to this topic....is my grandfather.....con ocallaghan snr....and his son frank were both awarded the victoria cross.....both those citations and medal hung in my grandfathers shop at 14 newline....i used to look at these scrolls for hours,...a photo hung above the citations and medals.....slan ....agus tog go bog e.......
