Alright!
New Royal Theatre opened its doors for the first time to-night. I was privileged enough to be part of the first band to play this magnificent new venue!
I play guitar in a band called The Frets, and we played as part of the 'Back to School Blast' that was held there to-night!! Bit of history that some board regulars maybe interested in, My uncles Paddy and Stephen Jordan, were part of a band called The Leaders, during the sixties, and I have it from reliable sources (My Mother) that The Leaders were the first band to play in The Royal Ballroom, when it opened it's doors for the first time during the sixties!! Who'd a thought that forty years later, the opening of the same venue, after a very very impressive face lift, that i, Their Nephew, would have been playing in the first band to play the NEW Theatre Royal!! A bit Of History!!!!
Was a great night, and Congrats to all involved in getting the theatre to such great heights, and without a doubt one of THE finest venues in Ireland!!!
