The Golden Clam I believe was the logo for the Irish Cinema Advertising company - it opened revealing a pearl (shoulda been an oyster I guess but gold painted clam shells look better) and the adverts followed, then it closed followed by a mini movie and then the main feature.

My memories were for ads for Kill-tea-mock (Kiltimagh) . . .
