Correct me if I'm wrong, but was not the Peace Park mooted to pay homage to the thousands of Irish victims who died in WW1.;a sort of bringing back into the fold of those heroic people who gave their lives for the freedom of small nations in the British Army.God knows their sacrifice was frowned on by many in this country for far too long.Many families in Co.Mayo and other counties were bereaved during the conflict and got little sympathy in the polical climate of the time. Times and attidues have changed for the most part, and at last the the saxrifice of the war dead is being properly appreciated and commemerated.
