Gussie Ainsworth was a good friend of mine, as are the other members of the Ainsworth family. We often 'thumbed' our way to John Tom Clarke's pub, Manulla ('officially concealed in the country,' remember his advert in the Connaught Telegraph?). This was in the bona fide days. Happy days back in the 1950s when all the world was young. May the heavens be his bed. Sympathy to his family and relatives.
