Funny mushrooms were mentioned in a post below about the castle at the lake. Just wondering if anybody remembers eating them or any stories about them in Castlebar folklore. I remember being told not to eat the "pokeens" when I was young. I was told they were poisonous. Was that just a general warning not to eat wild mushrooms because some of them are poisonous, or did people know the pokeens would send you "tripping"?
