We have witnessed the sad faces of the abuse victims who marched in Dublin, the doctor who abused young people (RTE programme)and so many other sinful practices inflicted on innocent young people. And we call ourselves a Christian country. There are some good people in the country, but sadly we have been badly let down by others. I despair for the future of our nation and the generations yet unborn. Remember the way Dr. Noel Browne was treated by the hierarchy and he cleared the country of tuberculosis? That man was a saint in a nation of sinners. He will be remembered when many others are forgotten. Dr. Browne was born in Ballinrobe and we should be all proud of him. Apart from a plaque on the house where he was born, erected by some of his admirers, he is largely forgotten.
