I personnaly think its more fitting to have it done by a few caretakers with brushcutters and huul away the resulting pile of weeds. I know in other Catholic countries that have had a Spanish colonial past celebrate an evenings vigil to their dear departed ones gravesides and stay for several hours into the night praying for the dead and it's quite a spectular sight to see those lighted candles some set down and others bobbing aroun whilst been carried about. The whole community attend to clearing up their own patch sometime a few days prior to All Souls Day which is when they gather there.
