Yes now I remember ,saleen lake was our domain,to see johnny feeney and others swimming out to the little island and back,jimmy devaney loved fishing in the small lake nearer the road.It was a great lake for catching eels,though I could never take to them myself.I used to see my father frying them on the pan, ohhhhhhhhh nooo, they were hopping .I remember the time the authorities killed all the fish in the lake,whatever for I dont know,They destroyed it.The moy drainage was its down fall,some benefited from it, not us locals.Its a very small lake Today,with a family of swans living on that Island they used to swim out to.I have lived beside it for 20 years or so now and I go there for a walk a couple of times a week.
