This is heart breaking news. I have so many memories of Fr Des, from the Panto, from a trip to Seamie Gavin's wedding in the USA, from his visits to us in Kerry. He even celebrated our own wedding in Ballintubber. Many tributes will be paid to him and all will be deserved. He was a good friend, a decent gentle man and a fine priest who served his ministry with humility and committment. RIP Des.
