a cara.......jack cassidy .....and his father before hinm bill cassidy...was the local town crier.....many a wall in town got a rub of jacks paste brush.....he was a great friend....a character....and a true mchale road son.....he had the purest gold teeth in the country.....and in the late 40s...early 50s....he left for scotland to puck potatoes.....his sister kathleen cried on his departure.....crying to mrs. heavey....two days after jacks departure.....i wonder where my jack is .....only to discover ...jack was banging on number 16 to get in.......later when kathleen was informed ....jack was at the door....jack ...explained.....kay....there was no religion over there.....soon jack was back....in his stride pasting and posting.....and carrying his bag of turf ....fresh from kilboyne bog....down the back road.....we shared many a pint together ....and we often kept point duty at jbs corner...many an evening.....
.....what a character......once upon a good time.......even as i delight in the tropical heat of sao paulo......recalling the cassidy family ....brings a joy to my heart.....
