I can remember the first time that Castlebar was lit up at Christmas time,unsure of the exact year though and they stayed up I think for about thre years, am I right? all those rows of yellow bulbs were an amazing sight to behold, I would stand there gazing at them and thinking "what a marvelous sight", although now I often wonder why they were all yellow globes,too late to whinge about that now, but only just a thought, tat's all! One remarkable thing that I like about Christmas is the green & red coloured decorations one sees in the big stores that remind me of the Mayo colours.
