Way back, I could drive around castlebar,Up and down any street ,every street was two way.The hardest stunt was at the top of castle St,beside Parsons facing main st,a cop standing in front of me directing traffic,had to stop when directed,No hand break,but I was young then ,no priblem.Another Stunt was,"You could not do it today"drive home after one of the after hour festivals,in some town or other,good few drinks on,but not as many as some of the drivers on the road.It was impossible to pass some drivers as the car would be taking both sides of the road.......Very few deaths on the road .....Not as many cars I suppose.........Narrow windy roads.
