Henry worked in his garage for years just three doors up from my mother's shop. We all loved to see him come into the shop because he brightened up every day with a story or a joke. One of my favoutites has a punchline that defines Henry himself. He told me once that when the circus used to visit town, there was an act called the human cannonball. He climbed into the barrel of a large gun , whuch was then fired, resulting in a cloud of smoke and the human cannonball would fly across the ring, landing in a safety net. Henry concluded: There aren't any men of that calibre any more!
