Dancing on graves

Posted by Royal on February 14, 2010 at 15:22:04:

In 1926, at An UDC meeting, Dan Hogan bemoaned the condition of Quinn’s family vault (in-laws of Louis Brennan) up in the old cemetery. He told the startled members present that the vault was open and in disrepair. Inside were broken coffins, skulls and bones lying about and also that some youngsters from the town went in and danced on the coffins and made footballs of the skulls.
They decided to notify the Quinn family to look after their property but needless to say, reports appeared in the national ‘papers with gruesome details. There’s definitely a book waiting to be written about the one and only Daniel Hogan.
