You are probably talking about St Michaels Church in Crimlin-about 5 miles from Castlebar out the Pontoon Rd. (Crimlin is half parish of Parke/Turlough-not Castlebar)

I think the old church is now the Parish Hall-because the current church is pretty new.

Might be worth sending a note/letter into the Connaught telegraph and asking
them to publish it in the Crimlin/Ross notes section
