a cara.....iknew the morans lived in the gate house before me ......the groundskeeper....tom....?.....kept me updated on all events....he took me on many a trek through the estate......i remember one night....john kenny was in galway visiting his son tony in merlin park....tony had some major hip or leg surgery.......however that night ....patsy dunne i9 mchale road....gave me a ride down to massbrook on his motorised bike......it was about 1 a.m......when we got to the hill at the pontoon cross....we had to walk....the bike could not make the climb on motor power......
one thing of interest....as we talk of lahardane.....there was a guy ....named ruanne....who came from lahardane...was in my class in 1949....in st.geralds......he was during his tenure there a good friend...and he was also a good footballer....would you know of ruannes of lahardane....one other thing of note ...he had the finewst raleigh bike...primo....
