Sincere thanks to all who commented on the question I posed in an earlier post regarding the colour of the Irish flag (or Tricolour). Particular thanks to "How is she pasting" (an interesting name) for the detailed information on the flag and its origin.

I am now converted and I will declare to all my American friends that indeed our Irish flag is GREEN WHITE and ORANGE.

Debate closed (unless anyone else wants to comment, of course).
