The West's awake

Posted by Jay on February 26, 2011 at 22:24:12:

Though an exile for many years now but one who has always kept a very keen interest in how my homeland and heartland is faring and having spent many hours watching on the web the results of the GE unfold, I think Castlebar,Islandeady and the West should be proud that Enda Kenny is to be the next leader of the country.
It is with great hope that I and many more like me long to see an end to Irelands greatest export ........its talented young.....having to leave because the land of their birth cannot hold on to them or give them the chance of the future that foreign lands can and are eager to embrace.
The hope that Ireland can staunch the poison legacy of those who robbed its present and future children of their right to be born solvent, is one that I hope will be the outcome of the new local leadership..............Bro Gussie would be proud today but he would still have a consoling word for 'young Timmy'.....4b back in 75 now seems so long ago and never in our wildest dreams did we think that 'young Enda' would reach such heights.........maybe the song is right......'Hark and well may Erin quake, the West's awake, the West's awake'
Well done Enda you have the prayers and will of those at home and far beyond to turn this 'poison chalice' into a 'jug of plenty'
