a cara....as a p.s. to my earlier reply to you....joe was very partial to bacon and cabbage....in the '40s meat was rationed...however my father was a meat supplier....and he had a supplier quota....so in those ...emergency ...times....he travelled around the country supplying ....bacon...rashers...sausages ...and black puddings...some puddings made at the bacon factory....others were of the homemade variety....the smell of boiling blood ...and oatmeal often wafted from our kitchen ......and in the morning the clothes line above the range....displayed lines of black pudding....joe was one of our regular customers.....and often we made sure joe got a joint....with not too much hair....yes joe was ...man of distinction....but he loved pigs ass 'n cabbage....
